Just when you thought that Pink Floyd music couldnt get any cooler, they add it to this trailer. To anybody who's read the books, all the tiny little details in this are insane. This looks better than anyone could've hoped for.
Living in New York in the late 80's and early 90's, I answered a job ad in a newspaper and went somewhere over near Columbus Circle for what I figured was an interview. What it actually ended up being was a group of people that they were trying to recruit to circulate flyers throughout the city to promote night clubs ( I specifically remember the Palladium being one. The flyers were coded so that whenever anyone used one for entry into a club, you were credited and received a commission. There was a break in the meeting and I one of the attendees had recognized the main speaker there as Jerry Rubin and explained to some of the younger people there who he was.
The last line resonates with a lot of people, I reckon. Aaron Sorkin is the real draw here. I'm in. I almost didnt notice Batista in this trailer, he was standing incredibly still. There are so many reasons NOT to compare the protests in 1968 to the current violence of today. In 1968, we did NOT burn down cities, destroy and loot businesses, attack innocent by-standers or kill police. We had leaders with a purpose - the END the Vietnam War, fight FOR civil rights for ALL Americans. Yes, the police acted horribly in Chicago, on the Kent State campus, BUT these were all PEACEFUL legal and constitutionally protected protests - not the wild violent anarchy we've seen today that has no leaders, no goals except destruction and won't accomplish anything except create more violence and bloodshed.
Wow. i haven't seen this since it was on HBO back in the 80's... still one of the best things they ever did. Nice 🎥 ❤. I watched the movie yesterday in an open air cinema in Athens. I was amazed by this trial drama. Not knowing a lot about 68 in Chicago and the US it was a dense movie on the political volatility of values, society and lawmakers and judges. I reminds us all how important it is to have excellent and independent judges, lawmakers and courageous citizens to challenge the government. Never thought Joseph, Sarah and Eddie will be casted all together in one movie.
I've never been on trial for my thoughts before DAMN. What's in the Box Office? Pain. I really hope this movie succeeds.
